Friday ritual – a wordless post: a personal photograph that captures a moment from the week. One photograph from Hannah, in the Southern Hemisphere and one from Ria, in the Northern Hemisphere.
And if the mood strikes, leave a “Haikument” in comments inspired by one of these photos. We’ve had some fantastic ones! Check them out here and here. No poetry degree required! You can use the 5/7/5 syllable count rule if you like, or create something unique. If you want to find out more about Haiku (and who doesn’t?), check this out. Thanks, always, for any comments you leave on forkandfiction.com. We love hearing from you!

From Ria:
If she’s looking for
that white bowl of hers, it’s here –
in New Zealand. Ha!
Louise, am I to understand from your haiku that you are not in London, but in the country at the top of my To-Visit list?
Not jealous at all…..
Looking for presents
is way more fun than finding
out what’s inside them.
Alas, I’m not in NZ – but the UK is at the *very* top of your To-Visit-Again list, yes? My haiku was an awkward attempt to put the two photos into a story – so whatever E is looking for under the pink wrapping paper in your photo is actually in the care of the beaming girl in Hannah’s photo.
Ah yes, it all makes sense now. Although, I still really like the idea of you exploring NZ, so forgive me if I pretend, just for a little while, that you are Intrepid-Agent-On-the-Loose…
I was in Scotland.
It’s the New Zealand of the
Northern Hemisphere.
I am really cute.
Seriously mom, so cute!
Second helpings? Please?
I love getting gifts.
No tags, but it must be mine
we’re both wrapped in pink.
gifts arrived today
wrapped in pink paper bunnies
and white tissue skins
pssst!…says the elbow
secrets are so hard to keep
in a joint like this!
