That’s me talking to 2000 screaming fans of books and reading! An author’s dream!
Hello from Toronto again, but this time from a fantastical place where authors are rocks stars and kids love reading with a frenzied passion and line ups for autographs from said author/rock stars snake around buildings. Yesterday was the Forest of Reading’s final climax: the ceremony for the Silver Birch Award in three categories, with my book, Nobody’s Dog, up for the middle grade (age 8-12) category (so excited for Robin Stevenson, who won for Record Breaker.) It’s been such a thrill to be part of this amazing program, one that celebrates readers and writers and libraries, and treats reading books as the adventure it should be.
Huzzah!
