Hello from away!
I’ve had the fortune to have lunch with my editor for my two books while we are in Toronto. We went out to a fabulous Italian restaurant, Gusto, for lunch. [Before that I got a tour of the Scholastic headquarters–such a treat! I just love meeting passionate and talented book people!] And right now I need to tell you about the pasta. I know I’ve waxed a bit about pasta before, but this was inspired. Fresh, quite al dente in the best possible way. And covered–not smothered–in a yellow tomato and cream sauce. Basil strewn over the top. Naturally. Pasta seems so simple, but when it’s done right, you realise how easy it is to mess it up.
Runner up for deliciousness: lemon and blueberry cheesecake from Dufflet, of which I sadly have no photo.
More soon,
Ria
Hmmm-mmm. Good pasta is so very…GOOD. Sounds like you are eating up a storm for us readers who need to live vicariously through your travels. Grazie! Keep the postcards coming… X
Yumma!
So glad to hear about your exciting trip. I hope it opens some lovely new doors (to opportunities or to some new restaurants!!).
We head out on the water tomorrow- I’ll drop my mum’s house key in your mailbox next Saturday.
Travel safely!!
Xo
Mmmm, that pasta WAS perfect. And we even got to eat outside, which is notable for the (lousy) spring we’ve had this year. Glad to have been a part of your culinary adventures — just sorry I missed the cheesecake.
I think the discovery of sublime cheesecake only means I will have to return for more. More sweets, more writing-related visits, more everything. Thanks, Anne!
